Wow! I used to like our area because people were pretty nice to each other as a general rule. Not any more! I think that the economy has made people absolutely certifiable.
Tonight we really wanted to go out but couldn't think of a place where we felt comfortable anymore. Between being treated like we're under suspicion of shoplifting, being told at restaurants that we're not ordering enough, cashiers who ask if we really need to buy whatever we're buying and my personal favorite, I was almost kicked out of a deli today because I asked to taste the turkey. Then there's not being able to talk about politics in a restaurant without being stared down by other customers. And the driving!
We've decided to stay home with the dogs from now on. And I'm doing all possible shopping online. Oh wait, no I'm not. The last time I ordered supplements for the dogs, I was sent stuff that expired in a week. Oh well.
