This evening my son and I were at football practice at the park. Easily, there are 300 people out there....many kids range in age from 6 to 13.
Out of no where, I see 5-6 teens running from a black pit, that seemed to be about to lock onto one kid. Fortunately for him, the dog got confused in such a "target rich" environment. He turned and ran back to his backyard. The owner, never left his drive way. (a-hole).
This was a tragedy about to happen. Imagine had that dog locked up on one of those kids. Several people would have been hurt.
I would love to bring my dogs out to that park in the evening, on leash of course..just to hang out .....but there always seem to be a jerk walking around with an aggressive pit an they always go crazy around other dogs.....after all, many have been bred to be aggressive.
I do not like pits, never did....I just don't trust them. Its like the gun argument. A gun never killed anyone, but in the hands of the wrong person..it can do a lot of damage. We all know that there are a lot of irresponsible dog owners out there...some of them have time bombs on there hands.
Sorry for the rant and no offense to any pit owners out there....just one man's opinion.
