So, now we have Honey, she's 4 or 5 months old. She's very sweet, a little timid and fearful, and moves with quick movements back and forth. She hasn't gone in the house, so she's house-trained. But, she has no leash manners, doesn't know sit and she is constantly nibbling, sniffing, licking our hands, like she's expecting there to be food there. She seems to be terrified of loud sounds, motors etc. Everywhere she goes, she starts out with her head down, moving nervously, tail down also. Once she feels there is nothing to fear, she'll be fine and happy. Any new person she sees she will run to them, but, when she gets close, she'll lay flat on the ground in front of them, her tail wagging a little. When they talk to her and pet her, then she'll sit up, lick them and wag the tail harder.
This is basically her personality, in a nutshell. So, what's the best way to teach her, I don't want to do anything that will cause more fear and insecurities....but, I also don't want to be too gentle, causing her to hold on to those fears and insecurities.
