Yesterday I spent the afternoon at Southpaws Playschool, a doggie daycare here in Austin, for the kick-off of their new Southpaws University, which offers classes and seminars on dog related topics. Some of the instructors were there to meet prospective students and their dogs. We had a great time meeting, playing on agility equipment, showing off dog tricks, and just plain enjoying our dogs!
Here are some of the dogs who were there…

This is Katie and she’s a regular at Southpaws, and from what I hear, she thinks she owns the joint!

This sweetie, Karma, belongs to Carol Underwood, owner of Have A Great Dog! She’s one of the trainers and teaches a variety of dog training classes, including leash aggression, agility, and more.

Tessa Marie, an absolutely gorgeous dog was there with her canine friend Zander, and their human Barbara Kraemer, of Train Dog Now. Some of the classes she teaches are house training, separation anxiety, and choosing the right breed.

This guy, Tex, is absolutely adorable…a real charmer. Carol Underwood and his owner worked with him as he tried the tire jump.

This is Sam - a really talented guy who kept people laughing with his tricks. He’s absolutely adorable, especially when asked, “do you like kitties?” and he licks his lips! His owner, Kheli Kitts teaches classes on trick training, loose leash manners, social skills, and others.

Joan Miller, another of the instructors was there too with her beautiful standard poodle, Roxy. Joan will be teaching classes in obedience, class management, and grooming.
I was there too, obviously, but since Archie and Lydia aren’t feeling well right now, neither of them went with me. It would have been more fun for me if they had been there!
