As I looked out the window this morning I noticed all the leaves were gone! The stark branches are telling me that we have very little time left to finish our outside chores. With just the two of us the surmounting tasks overwhelm us. One job at at a time I tell Dave. Holy Cow each job is a mountain! Money is running low. Our vets are rumbling. The high cost of supplies has eaten into our funds. Plus for each vet run it takes $50 in gas alone. We try and schedule two or more as only one dog at a time just isn’t cost efficient. We try to schedule all our other trips to coincide with vet trips but Hercules needed a specialist - 1.5 hours away - two trips one day after another. He will need to see the vet next week for stitches removal and x-rays to access his recovery. Actually I think he is doing very well - yesterday he used both legs to scratch the ground after his business! There doesn’t appear to be any swelling and his stitches are very clean and dry. He is healing wonderfully well. Thank goodness for small miracles.
Yesterday saw little Aleka go home with Anne. Cute name huh? Anne has waited over a year for her puppy. Be good little one!!

The little yellow pup also has an adoptive home once he is weaned. Izzie named him Lucas!
Linda has called that there was dogs in need again - a small spaniel looking male, a spotted small dog male and a puppy supposedly from the same litter as my beautiful smart fluffy ones. Well………. it looks like Wimpy’s dad is here!! Is this Gracie’s partner in crime!!

He does come from the same reserve I suspect Gracie of coming from - remember the little guys with broken legs? A possibility.
Then the other little male - he sure looks like one of Sunny’s planets/pups. He comes from that same area too - different than Gracie - there are 17 reserves in this area!!! So I am thinking of calling him Moon - a part of their universe.

And the pup - she sure is totally different. Different shape. Different face. Different colour. Different temperament - she is much more active than they were. She doesn’t have a name yet.

And as a bonus Linda brought me a vest warmer. He comes from Gitseguluka - another different reserve than the other pups. He has an injured leg (a child dropped him) but what a charmer he is. He likes to be close to my heart, snuggled in my vest whenever I sit down. He is smaller than Gracie’s pups but around the same age - 7 weeks. He is the popular mix for small dogs up here - a chihuahua/pom mix. Go figure!

And now UPDATES: First a sherriff dog - Tundra formerly known as Road - one who actually looked like a sled dog!!
Hello, Yvette.
I am writing to you to let you know that Tundra is doing quite well.
Thanks, Jim.

And sweet little Mairin who looks very much like the kelpie mixes I sent to foster in maple Ridge.
MAIRIN’S AGILITY:
Look at this little girl go … no stopping her now – she had a super time in Washington this last weekend and showed those American dogs what a CANADIAN rescue dog can do! At the wee age of two – she had 6 clean runs out of 10 – which is excellent considering all the circumstances – She had a great time on sleeping on the bed in the hotel room to boot!
We will be heading to Victoria at the end of the month.
Hope your not too tried with all those puppies
Cheers for now
Debra Hay
