This is really becoming a problem now because my boyfriend has moved into an apartment where almost everyone has dogs. She constantly barks at other dogs and then pulls very hard to get to the other dogs. The hair stands up on her back sometimes when she does this. She has never attacked another dog or anything like that. In fact, before when my boyfriend and I would take her to dog parks, she was afraid of other dogs and would run back to my boyfriend and I. It would take her a while to warm up to the other dogs, but then after a few minutes, she would play.
I took her outside today and someone had two dogs out. Before we went outside, she started barking, like she knew already that they were outside. When I opened the door, she proceeded to pull me up the stairs, against cement which cut my arm up and my pointer finger is bruised and swollen. I had the gentle leader on her at the time and she usually doesn't pull very hard when she has it on. Does anyone have any pointers on helping her not bark at other dogs and not to pull my boyfriend and I to other dogs?
